CHERRY LAUREL, also called PALM LAUREL, ALMOND LAUREL or TREBIZONDE LAUREL, is a large, hardy shrub with evergreen foliage often chosen to create hedges around houses in particular. Its shape is compact and bushy, which is good for forming a hedge. Its dark green leaves are between 10 and 15 cm long and give off a pronounced smell of bitter almonds when crushed. White, fragrant flowers measuring 6 to 12 cm long appear from April to May. CHERRY LAUREL is planted from October to April and can reach up to 8 metres in height when mature. It likes deep, rich soil, preferably in sunny exposure.
