Le CAMPHRIER  est un arbre à croissance rapide dont on obtient une huile essentielle par distillation du feuillage et des jeunes rameaux. Cette huile contenant le camphre est commercialisée sous le nom de Ravintsara. Cet arbre au feuillage persistant a une croissance rapide. A maturité il atteindra entre 5 et 10 mètres de hauteur voir plus.  On a d'ailleurs vu certaines variétés dépasser les 25 mètres de hauteur ! Son exposition est soleil mi ombre et il apprécie tous les types de sol. Le CAMPHRIER  fleurit de Avril à Juillet !
